Miles working the cone course at Rider Village, end of Day 1
Day 2: waiting for the official start, while getting a pep talk from Patty (funny hat), the Director of the Greater Washington chapter of the MS Society.
Day 1 start. The team that raised the most the previous year gets to start up front, so this is Team Microsoft, about 80 riders strong. This was the only time all day that I was in "first place".
Start of Day 2...waiting for the Harley Guys to fire up their bikes.
Day 2, out on the course.
Day 1, crossing Deception Pass Bridge. Out of photo is the Harley Guy that followed me across to keep the traffic off my tail.
Leaving the motel to head for Rider Village and the start of Day 1.
Marie and Miles, my fantastic Support Crew!
With his papa riding 60 miles, Miles has some time to go fishing in La Conner.
Miles came out to greet me on his uni at the end of a long Day 1. Here we round the corner and head down the home stretch.
Just about to cross the Finish Line. What you can't see are the hundreds of people just ahead, screaming their heads off and applauding all the finishers. It was so cool to cross the line with Miles after such a long day of pedaling.
