hayope > Check out all the stuff on this barge. It was coming up-river from the rural farm areas to unload fresh goods into the Hoi An market, which was about 200 yards further up on the right. All day long this happens. In Vietnam villages and cities, the market is King, and family food preparation revolves around fresh ingredients. Many families go to the market in the morning for their lunch food, and go back to the market in the afternoon for their dinner food. The frozen Stauffer's dinner is not a concept here.

hayope > Funky fishing boat with eyes. They look like owls when you see them straight on, but I wasn't able to get a shot at that angle.

hayope > Family fishing in the delta downriver from Hoi An. This whole area was delta land, including most of our ride this day.

hayope > L to R: Irene (USA), Heather (Canada), Andy (USA).

hayope > Lots of riders starting out on the small rural road after we got off the riverboat. Big change from the bustling city of Hoi An just a half hour earlier.

hayope > Christof (Germany) and kids. Everywhere we stopped, the kids surrounded us, but Christof seemed to be an especially powerful Kid Magnet. In general, they weren't quite sure what to make of us, but they sure were having a good time with the moment.

hayope > Nathan (Canada) on one of the remote delta roads. Note the small shadow, indicative of a broiling hot sun directly above.
