This is one of my favorite photos from the tour. Andy (red) and me about half-way up the Hai Van Pass climb, which started at sea level. We were just approaching a right-hand hairpin-switchback, which is why we're on the wrong side of the road. The insides of the switchbacks were really steep, so if traffic allowed, we crossed over to the outside to make the turns. This photo was taken from the road above, just after the switchback, and I seem to remember Nathan H, the photographer, giving us a hard time for being wussies and crossing to the outside to make the turn.
