To celebrate my son Miles's 15th birthday, a few Seattle Area Riders came together to help him "ride his age" with a fun urban uni ride. Harper and Travis joined me and Miles for an 18 mile ride (overachiever) from Gasworks Park to Pike Place Market via Fremont and Ballard. We had so much fun we lost track of time and finished after dark.

hayope > Miles, the Birthday Boy, with Harper (hidden) and Travis (not) sneaking up behind him. It is quit possible that Harper has a handfull of small berries, which he is pinging one-by-one at Miles's back and helmet.
hayope > Miles, enjoying his Birthday Gelato along with Flat George, who tragically is no longer able to ride a unicycle. But we're a tight group, and we "ride for those that can't". Soon we will be adding Flat Steve and Flat TomJ to our collection of riding partners.
hayope > Miles and Papa in front of the Theo Chocolate Factory in Fremont. Walk right in, and there are yummy samples of all sorts of high quality chocolates, just there for the sampling. Travis bought something, so he was our saving grace. I celebrated by walking back in the store for a couple last free samples.
hayope > Cars, trucks, and unicycles pile up waiting for the Ballard Bridge drawbridge to come back down so we can pass. The sign says "Idling Pollutes", but not the sort of idling we were doing.
hayope > Travis, Miles, and Harper on Ballard Bridge, with Fisherman's Terminal in background.
hayope > Miles and Harper banking into the turn along the harbor trail on the way into downtown Seattle. This is such a great ride.
hayope > Miles, having an identity crisis.
hayope > Miles on the trail along the furthest out of the piers.
hayope > Harper, Tom, Miles hanging out at The Happy Hooker. If I'm going to rent bait and tackle to fish into Elliott Bay, I'm going to do it at the Edgewater Inn, and try to catch me a Mudshark.
