hayope > Friday night setup underway at the Team Microsoft tent. The great folks at Arryve Consulting took care of everything, creating a cool sports bar theme with games, videos, and of course lots of beer.

hayope > Sports Bar decor in the Microsoft tent. This was about 5pm on Friday, so most of the riders didn't arrive for another hour.

hayope > Resting up for Saturday's 60 mile ride.

hayope > The Piper's Peddlers team tent. They went all-out with an Animal House theme, winning the Best Team Tent award. But that was just the warm-up act, which they topped with a full-on Toga Party on Saturday night. A lot of the red-plastic table covers from the MSFT tent were re-purposed into emergency togas.

hayope > Bruce, ready to tear up the course on Day 1. He rides a geared unicycle, which gave him lots of explaining to do all day when quizzed by the bikers.

hayope > Bruce and me getting ready to head to the starting line. The windbreakers didn't last long...it turned out to be a very warm day.

hayope > Team MSFT tent buzzing Saturday morning before the start of the ride.

hayope > My former boss Todd, who I recruited to this ride two years ago, and former co-worker Mark. Todd tricked Mark, saying "Hey, let's go for a bike ride on Saturday." Then on Friday night, he spilled the beans as to just what kind of a bike ride it was. Mark stepped up in a big way, and I'm hoping this is the first of many years that he'll be doing the event.
