The 6th Annual International Harper Day festivities were held--for the first time--somewhere other than the Iron Horse Trail in Washington. Due to structural concerns, the Iron Horse railroad tunnel is at least temporarily closed, forcing us out onto the farmroads of the Snoqualmie River valley. It was a day that started out cool with the threat of rain, but quickly turned sunny and warm. For a while, it looked like it might become "National Harper Day", because our Canadian friends were unable to make the ride to add the international element. At the last minute, trusty "Flat Dave", a great rider and friend from South Africa decided to come along. Riders: Steve and Johnny on tandem (maintaining proper wheel-to-rider ratio, Harper, Jeff, Preston, JC (who drove up from Portland for the ride), Miles, Tom. We had a leisurely 24 mile loop along the river, from Fall City to Carnation, WA
