I've wanted to do a Century Ride on my unicycle for some time, but was having trouble with the logistics, and finding a good route. You pretty much have to be self-sustained, which can mean carrying a very heavy pack full of food and water and tools, so you're prepared if anything goes wrong. Then I heard about the 100 Miles of Nowhere from fatcyclist.com

Others on a high school track or around the central loop road in a city park. I chose Klahanie, my suburban cookie-cutter neighborhood, as the perfect location. I could do a five-mile-loop 20 times, while never traveling further than 2 miles from my house. No need to pack a lot of food or water, since I'd be passing my house every 25 minutes. No need to pack tools, since help would be a 5 minute drive away. The only downside: tedium.
